White Fawn Lilies

We always just called them Easter lilies, but apparently White Fawn is the proper name…

White Fawns are native to the Pacific Northwest, emerging in the spring in rocky mossy places, ditches and forests,  like delicate white dancing fairies.

I have been playing more with salt washes lately, to get the cool dappling, mottled quality like in the background of this painting. I love it! Expect to see more salt ’round these parts…

Hope you’re having a lovely spring day, my friends.  It’s 18°C in Toronto right now!
